Nominating                                  

Chair:  Mark Pacheco, Past President

 

Nominates candidates for the Board of Directors in the upcoming year.  (Appointed by the Board annually in September. The commission expires at the end of the same year).

 

Programs                                    

Chair:  Ed Motley, President Elect

 

The President Elect is responsible for programs at the monthly membership meetings.  Up to three (3) programs per year are to promote good business practices among consulting engineering firms.  Programs are to be diverse in subject matter and should include local business and political leaders.

 

Public Relations                          

Chair: Nancy Mitchell, Secretary

 

Education Program         Regional Initiatives        

                                      

Administers the Chapter affairs that involve public activities.  Promotes increased awareness of the Chapter and consulting engineering in general.  Coordinates with ACEC Texas Public Relations activities. Facilitates one public forum in each year involving engineering issues related to major public projects. 

 

Membership Services                 

Chair: Jean Maier Dean, Treasurer

 

Promotes increased Chapter membership and attendance at meetings.  Contacts prospective members.  Assists in arranging receptions for local agency officials and key government staff members.  Assists ACEC Texas in the review and processing of applications for membership.  Coordinates activities with ACEC Texas for statewide events, if needed.

 

Government/Client Relations

Establishes and maintains a continuing dialogue with officials of city, county, state and other public agencies concerning their programs and policies affecting consulting engineers. Initiates appropriate action of Chapter (or state office) when a response is needed for activities or requests.  Helps educate public entities regarding the Professional Services Procurement Act and encourages them to comply.  Provides a focus for the review of design criteria and standards.  Recommends revisions to design criteria standards and approved products.  Disseminates relevant information to the Dallas Chapter membership.

 

Business Practice                       

Chair: Rob Franke, Director

 

Promotes good business practices among consulting engineering firms.  Provides programs or continuing education at monthly meetings on topics related to business practice.  May also conduct business practices surveys when deemed beneficial.  Communicates Dallas Chapter concerns regarding professional services contracts.  Serves as a Chapter advocate on legal, contracting and insurance issues. 

 

Local Political Committee           

Chair: Mark Pacheco, Past President

 

To engage in public policy issues of interest to the engineering community and to contribute to candidates for elected office who are supportive of the views and goals of ACEC Dallas and the engineering community overall.  Conduct quarterly meetings to discuss local issues and candidates.
