Small Business Mentor - Protege Program

The ACEC has launched the Small Business Mentor-Protégé Program as a pilot study for its members.. The goals of this program include:

· Strengthen the small business community in our industry

· Help small businesses receive a higher rate of productivity and success

· Provide skilled mentor support in a confidential environment

· Offer valuable insight into the procurement process of larger companies

· Connect with industry experts

General Information

· Up to three small businesses will be selected to participate in this year’s program.

· The ACEC Dallas Board of Directors will review applications from Mentor and Protégé companies and will assist with aligning participants.

Furthermore, participants will need to meet the following criteria:

Mentor Company

· A minimum one-year commitment or longer if mutually agreed.

· Complete a brief evaluation of progress at six-month intervals and submit to the ACEC Dallas Board.

· Attend periodic ACEC Dallas Board meetings to discuss progress and potential program improvements.

· Provide a statement on why you want to be in this program and what you are looking from your protégé company.

Protégé Company

· Must be a ACEC Dallas member firm with less than 20 full or part-time employees.

· Must have been in business a minimum of two years.

· A minimum one-year commitment or longer if mutually agreed.

· Complete a brief evaluation of progress at six-month intervals and submit to the ACEC Dallas Board.

· Attend periodic ACEC Dallas Board meetings to discuss progress and potential program improvements.

· Provide a statement on why you want to be in this program and what you are looking from your mentor company.
